Dr. Charles Calais, DO, MS, FACP, FAAAAI, FACAAI

Dr. Charles Calais is currently board-certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology (ABAI). He is also board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Dr. Calais received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fayetteville State University and a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University. He received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Thereafter, he went on to complete his internship and residency at BAMC. He later completed his fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the National Capital Consortium in Bethesda, MD. He retired from active duty in the US Army Medical Corps with over 27 years of honorable service. He served as Chief of Allergy Services at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital, Irwin Community Hospital and Brooke Army Medical Center. He also served in 3 military deployments in support of military operations in Thailand, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Middle East. Dr. Calais is a Distinguished Member of the United States Army Medical Department Regiment and a member of the Order of Military Medical Regiment. 

Dr. Calais is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a Fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (FACAAI), a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, (FAAAAI), Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatric Medicine at the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Medicine at University of Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Calais currently holds privileges with Methodist Hospital, Baptist and Christus Santa Rosa Medical Centers. 

Dr. Calais is a member of the Texas Medical Association, Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society, C.A. Whittier Medical Society, National Medical Association and a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.

He and his wife have two children together. 

In his off time, Dr. Calais spends time reading, working on home improvement projects and participating in community outreach initiatives in San Antonio.

Dr. Michel Laham, MD, FAAAAI, FACAAI, Physician Emeritus

Dr. Michel Laham is currently board-certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology (ABAI). He is also board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Dr. Laham received a Bachelor of Science from University of Florida College. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. Thereafter, he went on to complete his internship, his residency in internal medicine, and his fellowship in allergy and immunology at the same university.  Dr. Laham served honorably on active duty in the U.S Army Medical Corps for 6 years. His awards and decorations include Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon. 

Dr. Laham is a member of the San Antonio Allergy Society, the Bexar County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, as well as the Texas Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Society. 

He and his wife have two children and two grandchildren.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Laham’s interests include swimming, gardening and collecting smoking pipes.

Since December 2021, Dr. Laham has retired from active practice and serves as a consultant for AAAAIC.

Dr. Laham past away on August 4, 2022. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and physician who served the communities of San Antonio fabulously  for over 40 years.  He is survived by his wife Hala, 2 children and 2 grandchildren. 

Ms. Veronica Diaz

Veronica Diaz is a Medical Assistant at AAAAIC. She received her medical assistant certification in 1997 and has worked within the medical field for almost 25 years. She is a wife and mother of 2 amazing children. She enjoys shopping, listening and dancing to music, outdoor activities and most importantly, spending time with her family especially her wonderful grandchildren.

Ms. Yanely Gonzalez

Yanely Gonzalez is an Administrator at AAAAIC. She received her medical insurance billing and coding certification in 2009 and has worked within the medical field for over 10 years. She is a mother of 2 beautiful children and two pups named Chewbacca and Kobe. She loves listening and singing to music, playing video games, and spending time with her family.

Ms. Annette Lowery

Annette Lowery is a Medical Assistant at AAAAIC. She received her Medical Assistant certification in 1997 and has worked in the medical field for over 25 years. She and her husband have 2 sons. She enjoys spending time with her family.

Ms. Teyoka Booth

Teyoka Booth is the business manager at AAAAIC. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from University of New Orleans and her Master’s of Social Work from Southern University of New Orleans. She enjoys working with the staff, patients and external stakeholders. She spends her spare time with her family, gardening, and interior decorating. She is committed to ensuring that our patients have a wonderful experience and receive the best care.

Ms. Eleanor Vidales

Eleanor has over 20 years in the medical field as a Medical Assistant in San Antonio. She is dedicated to ensuring positive experiences as she works with the AAAAIC team to provide quality care for each patient.

When she is not at work, Eleanor enjoys spending time volunteering at her church & school functions, going to music & sporting events and being with family, friends and her 3 dogs.
